Internal Communications Campaign

 Internal Communications Campaign

I worked with one of Capco’s biggest banking clients to develop an internal communications campaign for their relaunched Citizen Developer Program, aimed to elevate awareness and engagement among the bank's employees in the innovation options available to them. The objective was to enhance the existing campaign imagery while expanding key visuals for greater versatility, and producing a catalogue of templates and materials that the Transformation team could use independently.

Communications Strategy

As part of the internal communications campaign for the Citizen Developer Program, I developed a comprehensive communications plan aimed at achieving specific objectives. These objectives included raising awareness of the program, communicating achievements, and generating interest in the training program. I outlined three different options with varying scopes of awareness and budgeting, as well as timelines. This allowed leadership to assess and choose the most suitable plan based on their preferences and resources available.

To ensure effective implementation and tracking of the communication efforts, I created a detailed Excel tracker. This monitored all internal communications, designed materials, and ownership of future templates and content. By implementing this tracker, we were able to streamline communication processes and maintain accountability throughout the campaign.

Visual Identity

To expand the existing visual identity for future use, I proposed evolving the visual identity by expanding the main ‘hero’ photography, adding a set of interchangeable taglines, and introducing a suite of secondary stylised photography as a visual support.

By adapting the campaign’s visuals to include legacy imagery, it meant the team could gradually phase out older materials over an extended period of time.

Where possible, the training program’s legacy learning guides, training materials, communication assets, and intranet posts were republished with the updated visual identity. I designed a suite of posters and flyers for the office noticeboards, and storyboarded an overview video to play across internal screens.

Promoting Self-Sufficiency

Alongside all communication materials, a suite of templates was created to allow the team to self-manage communications going forward. The templates were made in PowerPoint, and included bespoke guides on creating and applying a custom email signature, creating email newsletter banners, updating intranet/portal imagery, applying colour overlays to photography backgrounds, and best-practice recommendations for PowerPoint.

All templates were accompanied with a how-to guide, or video walkthrough where necessary.

PowerPoint presentation templates were also created for the team to use for their future learning packs and presentations. An array of layouts, common use diagrams and tables were included.
